Genesis House is a residential rehabilitation center for young females who have been victims of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. This initiative is designed to proffer an effective solution to the alarming and growing trend of sexual exploitation, trafficking and commercial sex work among young females in Nigeria.

Our interventions focus on behavioral, emotional, social, and educational reformation along with counseling and psychotherapy to help young women overcome their past life experiences.

Genesis House provides safety and protection for these young females, and gives them the opportunity to regain their self-esteem and dignity, whilst empowering them to return to society as productive, self-sufficient individuals.

Our rehabilitation program is implemented in three phases of care and support. The pattern of care at every phase is largely dependent on individual client’s experiences, problems and needs.

Rehabilitation, Education & Empowerment

  • We provide medical care, psycho-social and spiritual counseling, life-skills, computer education vocational training and adult literacy.
  • These 3 phases has been broken down into a journey map which covers the beneficiary’s 12 month duration in the program, including a 6 month follow up and monitoring phase post-integration back into the society
  • We also trace their families and offer family counseling to reunite both parties. In the event a beneficiary is unable to reunite with her family, either for safety reasons or otherwise, we support the beneficiary to achieve independent living.
